Felted Slip Stitch Place Mat

Materials:

• 150 yds solid color felting wool (A)-sample uses "Terra"
• 100 yds multicolored felting wool (B)-sample uses "Kureyon"
• Size #10 & #11 needles

Abbreviations:

• S1yb: Slip one stitch purl wise with yarn in back.
• S1yf: Slip one stitch purl wise with yarn in front.
• Slip St Edge: Slip 1st st of each row purl wise, knit last st of every row.

Pattern: Multiple of 4 + 3

Row 1: With B, *K3, S1yb* to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 2: *k3, S1yf* to last 3 sts, K3.
Row 3: With A, K1 *S1yb, K3* to last 2 sts, S1yb, K1.
Row 4: K1 *S1yf, K3* to last 2 sts, S1yf, K1.

With A and #10 needles co 72 sts and work 1,1 rib for 4 rows.

Next Row: Change to #11 needles, add B, start pattern and slip st edge, inc 5 sts across first row-77 sts. Work 25 pattern repeats, then rows 1 & 2 again keeping edges in sl st. Cut B, change to #10 needles, work 1,1 rib for 4 rows, dec 5 sts across first row. Bind off. Felt and ENJOY!
